Kaizer Chiefs seems to be contemplating loaning out three players—Happy Mashiane, Samkelo Zwane, and Fiacre Ntwari—on a season-long basis to give more consistent playing opportunities and professional momentum for the players, as per the club philosophy and the player’s own hunger for regular minutes on the field.
Under-used youth player searching for game time
Mashiane and Zwane, both of whom graduated from the Kaizer Chiefs Academy, had a pretty limited run last season under coach Nasreddine Nabi. This was mainly due to stiff competition for spots in the team and inconsistent team performances. The left-back from Tembisa was drastically affected by an injury layoff and has therefore managed just nine appearances all season, connecting for two assists. With 69 senior-level appearances since ongoing 2008 with 14 goals, six assists, and one red card especially highlighted against Wydad Athletic Club in the 2021 CAF Champions League Final that impacted his course, he has experienced some ups and downs in his career thus far. The contrast, Zwane; a 23-year-old midfielder promoted to the senior team in 2023, had 13 appearances to his credit and assisted once; with 36 appearances, he is not doing very well in garnering regular starting opportunities.
Loan Interest Brewing from Across the League
A number of Betway Premiership clubs are speculated as willing to take these players on loan. TS Galaxy, who have always been quick to lure Chiefs youngsters, along with AmaZulu FC, are said to be interested in Zwane. On the other hand, Durban City have recently been indulging themselves in talks of bringing in Mashiane’s experience to shore up the defense and keep their side away from the drop in their maiden Premier Soccer League adventure.
Rwandan Forward Ntwari Considered for Loan
A Rwandan international, who had been signed in July 2024, may well be headed for a loan move. Finding less chance these days behind players Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma, he may well be becoming marginal in the pecking order and is thus considered prime for a loan to revive his development pathway.
