South Africa Weather Update 2025 : This week will see the sun shining and showers on the other side, with the latest forecast holding the possibility of some rainfall in parts of the Western Cape as from this Saturday. The contrast between the dry places is being broken as the cold front makes its way to the country and lowering temperatures on the other side.
Western Cape Bracing For Rain
The Western Cape is likely to be harbouring scattered showers and cloudy skies over the weekend, including Cape Town, Worcester, Vredendal, Springbok, Beaufort West, and Sutherland. Chances of rainfall range from 30% to 40%, with some coastal areas experiencing heavier downpours as the cold front makes its way inland. Strong winds and high sea waves will be along, so coastal residents should stay alert.
Cool And Wet In The South-West
Temperatures in the south-west will start to fall come Saturday. Residents should prepare for cooler days and chilly nights, especially for the high-lying towns. While the rain will be much welcomed by the farmers and gardeners, motorists should take caution for wet roads may become slippery.
Dry And Mild Across The Interior
Regions in Gauteng, Free State, and some portions of North West shall remain dry. Whereas hazy sunshine will probably prevail over Johannesburg with highs about the afternoon pegged at 16°C and cooling down to single digits through the night, Pretoria, as well as Bloemfontein, will feel much the same, pleasant for outdoor activities, but mornings will be rather crisp.
Patchy Clouds Over Eastern Regions
Afternoon light sprinkling rains may occur over sections of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, and eastern Limpopo, but the remainder of the day should be warm with some cloud cover. These places will be on the right side of that cold front, retaining moderate temperatures.
